Architectural Internship-Epic Engineering
Abstract-
My Edge Project covered my internship with Epic Engineering out of Heber City, Utah within the Architecture Division of the company. This opportunity gave myself a hands-on and in-depth look into the world of architecture and design so that when I enter the field after graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering Technology: Architectural/Civil Design I will have the necessary preparation and real world experience to easily transition into a full-time position in the field of architecture.
This was a paid internship where I completed more than 40 hours a week for the duration of the summer performing various tasks that come into an Architect's office. These tasks included but are not limited to; drafting and designing floor plans, revisions of floor plans, revising red lines, setting up and completing sets of finished plans, site visits and much more.
Goals-
My main goal with my Edge Project was to simply “complete” my internship with Epic Engineering, and gain the experience needed to progress into the field of architecture. I also had a goal to design a residential home under the direction of the licensed architect for a client.

Objectives-
If I wouldn’t have completed my goals with this internship, then I would not have gained the necessary experience to secure a job as an Architectural Drafter once I graduate. I worked a total of 602 total hours with Epic over the summer.

Deliverables-
Below is the link to an elctronic PDF of my summer labor detail hours which includes all of the projects I was involved in, as well as the hours put in. At the completion of my internship I was also offered a job for this coming summer to go back and work for Epic.
